Calculating the "Effective Sentence Begins Date"
- Use the pull-down buttons to select the date of the journal entry you are preparing. Usually, this will be the journal entry of sentencing.
- Click on the text field where the number zero is. (That zero will disappear as you click.) Now enter the number of days jail credit the defendant has.
- Click on the "OK" button.
- Now the "Effective Sentence Begins Date" will appear in the final text box. It will be displayed in the format MM-DD-YYYY.
