Calculating the "Effective Sentence Begins Date"

  1. Use the pull-down buttons to select the date of the journal entry you are preparing. Usually, this will be the journal entry of sentencing.
  2. Click on the text field where the number zero is. (That zero will disappear as you click.) Now enter the number of days jail credit the defendant has.
  3. Click on the "OK" button.
  4. Now the "Effective Sentence Begins Date" will appear in the final text box. It will be displayed in the format MM-DD-YYYY.
